No Freedom Crusading Organisation
can function better without a solid Executive Council. At its birth,
The Youth League decided to bring all the stakeholders together under the banner of
its Executive Committee called the Revolutionary High Command Council, REHCOCO.
The original members of the REHCOCO comprised of the following:
Lucas Cho Ayaba
Christopher Fomunyoh Bah-Tangoh better know as "BT"
Benedict Nwana Kuah
Nkea Emmanuel
Issa Abdourahim
Django
Cornelius Asonganyi Bedefeh
George Ebai
Ebenezer Derek Mbongo Akwanga.., Jr.,
Others like Nchofa Zacheus, Charles Ashukem and Christopher Foya were later brought into the fold of the REHCOCO. After the Biya Organised Sponsored State-Terrorism in 1997,
the entire REHCOCO was decapitated, the SCYL leader E. D. M. Akwanga..,
Jr., and hundreds of other SCYL and SCNC activists were illegally arrested and deported to alien jails in La Republique du Cameroun,
Ayaba and Nwana chased into exile and only
BT stood his ground at the HOME FRONT. By late 1997, the REHCOCOhas been reduced officially
to four:
Benedict Nwana Kuah who assumed the function of Acting Chairman
and remains the Strategic Commander of The League. Lucas Cho Ayaba who fully took the functions of the Secretary-General
and turn the SCYL into a renowned and veritable internationally recognised Freedom Movement.
Christopher Fomunyoh Bah-Tangoh who escaped so many arrest attempts,
even resign from the Civil Service where he was a High School Tutor and remain the Spokesman until he was recently assassinated
by The Biya Regime. Ebenezer Derek Mbongo Akwanga..Jr., who even behind bars showed a resolute
and committed spirit of resistance against the Biya Autocracy, a resistance which became a symbol of the entire Struggle.
The entire SCYL family is grateful to COCOs
Lucas and Benedict for their commendable efforts in keeping our Movement alive when all the others have to give in to
fear and abandoned the goals of the Struggle.
TERRORIST OR TERRORISED?
After the 1997 parchment of incidence in the Southern Cameroons, the Biya regime tried in vain to
label the SCYL & the SCNC as terrorist Organisations. Then, the War Against International Terrorism launched
by the USA and the Civilised World after September 11, 2001 gave him another opportunity to think
he can get our Movements black-listed as terrorist Organisations and by so doing, put a final halt on our
legitimate, legal and moral drive towards Total Independence.
The Biya oligarchy has not only failed in this stupid mission, but has equally shown it’s primitive mentality in handling a
very vital issue of the day which borders on the very existence and survival of the broken-hearted people of the Southern
Cameroons.
But, now, we may ask: who really are we? What really should the world think we are? What really do we want? And how much sacrifice are we ready to pay for it?Are we a terrorist organisation or are we victims of State-Sponsored Terrorism? Much can be said on this issue, but there can be only one clear-cut
answer to all these questions, and for who really we are:
We are Freedom Fighters, a People who have been terrorised for more than four decades by Frances-teleguided successive
francophone-dominated barbaric regimes in the Cameroons.
We are Crusaders for True Justice and Total Freedom, which will give birth to a Permanent Positive Peace, the type
of peace which gives room to the Growth of True Brotherhood and Love, making two Countries to live side by side each other, not as Conquerors, but as friends.
We are Crusaders for Total and Unconditional Independence. The type of Independence that will make genuine democracy a landmark in
the policy of government, giving every citizen the right to aspire for higher heights and contribute to the positive growth of his or her fatherland.
We are Crusaders for the rebirth of a Liberated Democratic Society, where differences in political opinion will not be the advancement of nightshift disappearance
and assassinations.
The War against International Terrorism should therefore not become an opportunity for brutal and barbaric regimes like the Biya dictatorship
to use as an instrument to silence the legitimate aspiration of a people whom he is terrorising. If America and allied troops can get themselves killed
in a far away distant, far from their homes and loved ones, all because they cherish the goals of freedom and want that the people of Iraq drink too from this cup, then what about us whose land has been ruined, our people enslaved, our Country Annexed and Brutalised?. Do we not have the right too to life? Are we not humans fit to live? If Saddam
was an assassin, a danger to his own people, and a threat to world peace, and was therefore extricated from the lives of the Iraqi people, who then is Biya, who is a Murderer, a disaster to his own Country,
a propagator to violence and a killer-virus to the people of the Southern Cameroons that should continuously be babied by the World Community? Therefore, where is the difference between the two that one will receive his due for his acts and the
other is being given a free hand in increasing his terrorism over us?
We are therefore what we are: Crusaders for Freedom!
